OUR STORY
SISU was established in 2020 during the pandemic on our owner's birthday. It was born from a deep passion and love for beautiful cakes. Our owner is always in awe of the beauty of nature, as simple as flowers with radiant colors, the warmth of the sun rays, and the calming blue sky. Hence, combining these elements, she decided to follow her instinct and create SISU.
This decision was motivated by the gut, "If not now, then when?" The worst-case scenario in the event of failure was at least having tried. Sounds like a quarter-life crisis, right?
We are a women-owned venture that sources ingredients locally and we always use natural components, such as real fruits and edible flowers, in our creations.
Anyway, we are a local cake shop based in Semarang, Indonesia that specializes in beautiful and delectable cheesecakes! Our name, SISU, is inspired by a Finnish concept that means "strength of will, determination, perseverance." We understand that realizing a dream is never an easy journey. By adhering to this concept, we hope to always maintain strength, determination, and perseverance in order to craft our best creations. Our goal is to deliver your love to your loved ones through our creations.

Jovita Putri
Tired of awful customer service and the absence of beautiful cakes in her hometown, her dream is to create a beautiful cake shop that provides the best service to its customers. With her love and passion for cake and pastry, she wants to create a sustainable business. This motivated her to pursue an MBA degree at the best entrepreneurial college in the United States. She is now managing SISU from New York and is on a mission to find the best cakes and pastries, hoping to bring the taste of Indonesia to New York and vice versa.
